Health Education Research & Policy Africa- HERPol Africa, formally accepted new volunteers into their organization yesterday, Thursday, November 7, 2019.
The non-governmental organization is a community of intellectuals working together to provide research-based solutions in the field of STEAM, education, and social policies to address some of the nation’s challenges.
Dr. Osman A. Dufailu, the director and co-founder of HERPol Africa, invited new members into the group and thanked the volunteers for taking on the challenge of entering their network of change-makers.
He highlighted some of the past projects undertaken by the company with a PowerPoint presentation and their current positions on completing some of the programs they have focused on to provide solutions to some challenges. The director, who is also a lecturer in the veterinary nursing department of UDS, said he hopes that his organization, backed by its committed team, can see results from their projects done so far in the next five (5) to ten ( 10 ) years.
He said this was because many individuals do the same thing every day, but seeking a permanent solution involves setting up a strategic plan aimed at developing a step-by-step mechanism to achieve a long-lasting one rather than a short-term one.
Dr. Dufaila shared some of the journeys and experiences of his life with participants seated in the program and chronicled how he faced rebuttals from family and friends who never believed in him on his academic journey. None of these stumbles on the journey made him stop, however.
I’ve been able to fly to great places around the world like Havard, MIT, Oxford and other renowned institutions of academic fame in just nine years to share information. So imagine where in the next few years your life will be,’ he remarked.
What is expertise if it does not help society, “he added again.” This is his saying, his firewood, which ignites his zealous attempts to give back to society.
Other HERPol Africa team members who manage the Health, Education and Research Projects have also provided brief information on their roles as coordinators and programs that they are currently working on to achieve HERPol Africa ‘s collective objectives.
The room was also opened for new members’ questions that were answered by the director and his awesome team.
