Community Health Volunteers (CHV) Needed
Community Health Volunteers are professionals or nonprofessionals who work in association with the local health care system in rural communities. Individuals passionate about community health education who do not have a health background would be considered.
The role of the CHV is to
- serve as frontline agents of change, helping to reduce health disparities in the underserved communities.
- They would be ambassadors for HERPol-Africa and the CIAO Project.
- They would be an advocate for Covid-19
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
- Creating connections between the community (vulnerable populations) and HERPol-Africa
- Facilitating social service system navigation in the community
- Facilitate the CIAO project
- Ensure the adherence to the WHO and HERPol- Africa COVID-19 protocols
- Collecting data and relaying information to the coordinators
- Providing informal counseling and referrals to matters relating to covid-19
- Building capacity to address health issues
The candidate must:
- be passionate about community health education. Previous experience working in health settings or community would be an advantage
- have a passion for inspiring youth and building relationships in the community
- have experience leading youth groups and social media presence
- Strong organizational, planning, writing, and communication skills
- Be flexible in working in teams and ability to work under pressure
- The candidate must agree and practice the COVID-19 protocols as stipulated by WHO and HERPol-Africa including wearing a mask, observing 2 meters distance, and periodic washing of hands.
Project Location: Tamale and its Environs
Report to the project Coordinator
